Work is underway to alleviate the problem of oil supply by cultivating soybeans.
Soybean crop is one of the products used as inputs for cooking oil. It is widely produced in four zones of Amhara State. In the Awi Nationality Administration, Jawi; The eye of the beholder, Zigem and Guangua districts are soybean producing areas.
Awi Nationality Administration Agriculture Department Head, Yatwale Getaneh, on his part said that it is appropriate to supply raw materials to factories to solve the shortage of oil in the market.
According to the head of the department, the administration and professionals are working hard to divide the work from field preparation to market linkage.
He said an agreement has been reached with investors to create market linkages for farmers.
