Thirty Burkinabe journalists and communicators in training in China

About thirty Burkinabe journalists and communicators are in Changsha, in the Chinese province of Hunan, for training on the history, culture and development of China in terms of cooperation and media, from October 11 to 31, 2024.

Entitled “Training course for media managers in Burkina Faso”, the training seminar brings together 29 Burkinabe participants from the state press, the private press and state and private communication services.

The seminar includes 17 lectures delivered at the Hunan International Trade Professional Institute, 12 field trips to media, schools, training centers and discovery sites in Changsha Municipality and Hunan Province, and 3 internships and practices.

It covers the topics of sharing Chinese experience in poverty reduction, writing and reporting skills, new media and digital transformation of media, international news and intercultural communication, multimedia production and broadcasting, and media management and leadership.

Planned visits include Hunan Evening News and Chan
gde News, Hunan Radio and Television Group, Hunan Institute of Mass Communication Professional Technology, Changsa University, Hunan University, and Hunan Professional Institute of Arts.

The training initiated within the framework of Sino-Burkinabe cooperation is sponsored by the Chinese government through its Ministry of Commerce and organized by the Hunan Professional Institute of International Trade.

This institute includes 10 faculties and 31 specialties including training in digital media art design.

At the opening ceremony at the Meyes Hotel, the head of the Burkinabe delegation and mission officer at the Burkinabe Ministry in charge of communication, Bakary Koné, welcomed this moment of sharing which constitutes a framework for exchanges promoting dialogue and cooperation between Burkina Faso and China.

“We will have the opportunity over the next three weeks to strengthen our skills in the multiple sectors that are essential to our profession,” said Mr. Koné.

The training seminar opened on October
11 and will end on October 31.

Training seminar for Burkinabe media managers opens in China

Changsha, Oct. 12, 2024 (AIB) – A training seminar on media business management and media practices opened yesterday Friday for around thirty journalists and communicators from Burkina Faso, in Changsha, in the Chinese province of Hunan.

The official ceremony, held in the west of Changsh at the Meyes Hotel, was presided over by Vice President of Hunan Foreign Trade Professional Institute (HFTPI) Gui Cheng and Director of the Opening Department of Hunan Provincial Trade Development Park Ye Jie.

Mr. Gui Cheng recalled the prestige of the institute that hosts this training. This is the 14th consecutive year that the center organizes training on media, recalled the vice-president of the IPCEH.

Ye Jie, director of the opening department of Hunan Provincial Trade Development Park, said that the relations betw
een Africa and China are in good shape and have much room for improvement.

“We hope, through this training, to jointly explore the challenges of this cooperation and advance cooperation in the media fields,” said Mr. Ye Jie.

The training, which will last three weeks, is given in Chinese and translated to the seminarians by interpreters.

It was initiated within the framework of Sino-Burkinabe cooperation and is sponsored by the Chinese government through its Ministry of Commerce and organized by the Hunan Professional Institute of Foreign Trade (IPCEH).

IPCEH comprises 10 faculties and 31 specialties including training in digital media art design.
