The 16th Nations, Nationalities and Peoples Day Celebrated
Ethiopian Civil Service University, Ethiopian Civil Service Commission, and Ethiopian Management Institute jointly celebrated the 16th Nations, Nationalities and Peoples Day, International Day of Persons with Disabilities, International Anti-Corruption Day, and International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Womenon December 8, 2021 at Ethiopian Civil Service University Abay Hall. The day was celebrated in a panel discussion and blood donation and pledging of financial and material support for the National Defense Force and people displaced from their homes due to the conflict.
Dr. Mekuria Hayle, Civil Service Commission Commissioner, in the panel discussion requested the participants to become a person of action by getting out of the rhetorical way of giving explanations and theoretical discourses. It is a time that everyone gives what he/she has to our beloved country, Dr. Mekuria underscored.
Ethiopian Civil Service University president, Professor Fikre Dessalegn , on his part, said that ECSU community has been supporting the National Defense Forces and people displaced from their homes since the outbreak of the war. He also expressed ECSU’s readiness to continue its support in all aspects in the future.
In the panel discussion, it is pointed out that the Nations, Nationalities and Peoples of Ethiopia stood together and fought against the external invasion at Adwa, Karamara Eritrea etc. with their definitive victory defended our sovereignty.
Participants of the panel discussion on their part indicated that in TPLF occupied areas in Afar and Amhara regions, it has committed a grave violation of the human rights against children, women and elders and destroyed all infrastructures and institutions including schools, hospitals, religious places and public facilities. For all Ethiopians such atrocities are unprecedented and the crime committed by this group is inhuman act by all measures. They also expressed their readiness to stand together with the government and strengthen the struggle against this terrorist group until the existence and sovereignty of our country is fully respected .
