South Sudan’s Transport Minister Praises Ethiopian Airlines for Boosting Regional Connectivity.
JUBA: Minister of Transport of South Sudan, Madut Biar Yel, has expressed his appreciation to Ethiopian Airlines Group for its efforts in enhancing regional air connectivity. The minister acknowledged the airline’s pivotal role in strengthening transportation links within the region and commended its contributions to improving air travel accessibility.
According to Ethiopian News Agency, Ethiopia’s Ambassador to South Sudan, Nebil Mahdi, met with Minister Madut Biar Yel to discuss various matters of mutual interest. During the meeting, they focused on the mechanisms for implementing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the Aviation Sector, which had been signed between the two countries.
The two sides also discussed the progress of the LAPSSET Project, which is intended to provide transport and logistics infrastructure as well as improve connectivity across the region. Ambassador Nebil assured the Minister of Ethiopian Airlines’ readiness to apply its operational expertise and contribute to enhancing r
egional air connectivity. He also expressed the Ethiopian government’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations in various sectors.
Minister Madut Biar Yel, in turn, emphasized the significance of sharing experiences from Ethiopia’s aviation sector and expressed his gratitude to Ethiopian Airlines Group for its efforts in advancing regional air connectivity. Both sides agreed to collaborate on the implementation of key road projects and underscored the importance of reinforcing water transport routes, including those connecting Gambella to Akobo and Juba to Nasir, Jikawo, and Gambella.
