Prosperity Party Determined To Take Ethiopia to Greater Heights, Says DPM Temesgen Tiruneh.
Addis Ababa: The Prosperity Party (PP) is committed to working tirelessly to realize Ethiopia’s overall prosperity, Deputy Prime Minister and Vice President of PP Temesgen Tiruneh stressed.
According to Ethiopian News Agency, the Prosperity Party commemorated its 5th anniversary with the display of an exhibition titled “The Greatness of Ideas for Universal Prosperity” at the Science Museum. The event was attended by several high-ranking government officials, including Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh.
At the event, the deputy prime minister made remarks, highlighting the significant progress Ethiopia has made in the past five years, citing the rapid development of Addis Ababa as a testament. He reiterated the PP’s commitment to working towards achieving Ethiopia’s prosperity, elevating its stature on the global stage.
Temesgen also stated that the exhibition showcased the significant progress made in a short period of time. “The Prosperity Party is founded on the principles of inclusivity, balance, r
econciliation, and equitable resource distribution,” he said, adding that “To realize these ideals, the party advocates for bridging divisions, fostering constructive political competition.”
Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen highlighted the party’s efforts to create a more inclusive political environment and to reform laws and practices that were detrimental to Ethiopia’s progress. The Prosperity Party has demonstrated its commitment to action and nation-building by appointing leaders and members from opposing parties to various government positions, he stated.
“This unprecedented move signifies a departure from old practices, ushering in a commitment to a more inclusive and collaborative approach of governance,” the deputy prime minister and vice president of PP said. He stressed the party’s commitment to fulfilling its promise of establishing free and independent democratic institutions.
To rectify historical fractures and resolve national issues that have not been agreed upon, the National Dialogue Commiss
ion and Transitional Justice and Rehabilitation Commission have embarked on implementing programs, he stated. These efforts aim to resolve the long-standing disagreements, divisive and single narratives to ultimately forge a collective and unifying vision.
Temesgen also highlighted the tangible results registered by the Homegrown Economic Reform, including the full implementation of the macroeconomic reform, food sovereignty, tourism development, Green Legacy Initiatives, and infrastructure expansion. The goal is to establish Ethiopia as a global economic powerhouse, he said, underscoring that the nation must leapfrog from conflict to development, prioritizing peace and prosperity over war.
To this end, the Prosperity Party is committed to working tirelessly to realize Ethiopia’s overall prosperity, he said.
