President Taye Urges EU to Maintain Direct Budgetary Support for Ethiopia

Addis Ababa: President Taye Atske-Selassie of Ethiopia emphasized the critical need for continued European Union (EU) direct budgetary support during his meeting with EU Commissioner for International Partnerships, Jutta Urpilainen, at his office today.

According to Ethiopian News Agency, the discussion covered a range of topics including current national, regional, and global issues of mutual interest. President Taye outlined the ongoing economic reforms and the progress being made in ensuring food security in Ethiopia. He highlighted the pivotal role of EU’s financial aid in these efforts and advocated for the continuation of the direct budgetary support from the EU to sustain these positive developments.

Commissioner Urpilainen acknowledged the significance of the reforms undertaken by the Ethiopian government and reassured the EU’s recognition and support for these initiatives.
