PM Abiy Unveils Beynouna Village at Lake Beseka, Showcasing Tourism and Agriculture Synergy.
Metehara: Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has inaugurated the newly developed ‘Beynouna Village’ situated on the banks of Lake Beseka. The village, which features a blend of traditional and modern architecture, includes luxurious bedrooms, a cinema hall, amusement facilities, and a spa, along with orchards and other developments linked to the Bounty of Basket initiative.
According to Ethiopian News Agency, the construction of Beynouna Village was achieved despite the challenging climate and landscape of the region. Prime Minister Abiy, during the inauguration ceremony, emphasized the achievement as a testament to overcoming environmental challenges, highlighting the village as an example of integrating agriculture with tourism.
Beynouna Village offers entertainment facilities and emphasizes agricultural development. The Bounty of the Basket Initiative promotes fruit cultivation, including oranges, lemons, papaya, and mangoes, as well as livestock farming with chickens, camels, cattle, and goats.

The development was made possible through collaborative efforts between the Ethiopian and UAE governments and the private sector. The Prime Minister also announced that Skylight Hotel will manage the operations of Beynouna Village, ensuring its continued growth and success as a tourism destination.
