PM Abiy Engages in Strategic Talks with AIIB President Jin Liqun.

Addis Ababa: Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed met this morning with President of the Asia Infrastructure Investment Bank, Jin Liqun. The discussions focused on the partnership between Ethiopia and the Bank in areas such as green energy, aviation, and infrastructure.

According to Ethiopian News Agency, Prime Minister Abiy shared a social media post stating, “I met this morning with President of the Asia Infrastructure Investment Bank, Jin Liqun for discussions on partnership between Ethiopia and the Bank on green energy, aviation and infrastructure.” This meeting underscores the ongoing collaboration aimed at bolstering Ethiopia’s infrastructure development and sustainable energy initiatives.

The Asia Infrastructure Investment Bank, established in 2016, currently boasts 110 member countries, including Ethiopia. During discussions with Ethiopia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gedion Timothewos, on Friday, Jin Liqun recognized Ethiopia’s impressive growth potential and economic progress. He reiterated the bank’s readi
ness to continue working with the Ethiopian government to expand critical infrastructure networks, further enhancing the country’s development trajectory.
