PM Abiy Concludes Turkish-Mediated Talks, Returns to Ethiopia

ADDIS ABABA: Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has returned to Ethiopia after participating in Turkish-mediated negotiations in Ankara. The talks, hosted by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, resulted in a significant agreement between Ethiopia and Somalia aimed at resolving longstanding misunderstandings.

According to Ethiopian News Agency, the discussions between Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud culminated in a joint statement. The leaders emphasized the importance of cooperation and dialogue, committing to moving forward in a spirit of partnership for mutual prosperity. The agreement includes assurances of Ethiopia’s access to the sea, a crucial aspect of Ethiopia’s strategic interests.
