Office of Administration and Student Services Hears Performance Report
Addis Ababa University (AAU) Office of the Vice President for Administration and Student Services heard annual performance review report from its various administrative offices of the previous budget year at Eshetu Chole Meeting Hall on August 4, 2022.
Ato Abebaw Kassa, Director of Transport and Vehicle Maintenance, in his review said that technology-assisted vehicle tracking system training was provided to various administrative and academic offices in order to properly protect the university’s resources and assets.
Ato Hailekiros Tesfaye, Director at the Office of Facility Management, said in his report that extensive works were done to maintain the beauty of the Six Kilo Campus including students’ dormitories within the campus.
TsehayYemane, Director of Human Resource Management, in her report noted that the suspension of the recruitment and promotion of employees in the 2014 E.C. fiscal year has caused workload on some departments of the university.
She added that her office is providing continuous monitoring and support by meeting the leaders of the college’s human resource development team at least every three months and evaluated their performance in order to fill the job gaps with different trainings.
Mathewos Ensermu (PhD), Vice President for Administration and Student Services, pointed out that the work of modernizing and digitizing with the help of technology will be done with the attention so that the activities of the offices will be held smoothly.
He also urged that colleges and administrative offices that are lagging behind in payment operations and file management should implement e-payment in accordance with the guidelines and directives issued by the Ministry of Finance.
Speaking about the campus beautification, Dr. Mathewos said that the appearance and beauty of the campus of Bahir Dar University can be taken a model for other universities and that some campuses of AAU should beautify their campuses accordingly.
He said that by the mid of the next year, AAU will enter the path of autonomy and urged all administrative and academic offices of the University to prepare psychologically and fulfil their responsibilities so that the reform will be successful.
