**Mongolian Delegation Visits Ethiopia to Exchange Climate Change Strategies**
Addis ababa: A Mongolian delegation, led by Member of Parliament Bat Ulzii Bat-Erdene, is currently in Ethiopia on a courtesy visit aimed at sharing experiences and strategies for combating climate change.
According to Ethiopian News Agency, the delegation was welcomed by Seyoum Mekonen, the State Minister of Planning and Development. During their visit, the Mongolian team was briefed on Ethiopia’s multifaceted approach to climate change, including its Green Legacy project, advancements in renewable energy, the implementation of an e-transport system, corridor development, and sustainable land management practices.
The discussions also highlighted Ethiopia’s efforts in national climate change governance, where the Ministry of Planning and Development plays a pivotal role in coordinating the country’s response to climate change and ensuring its leadership in regional and global dialogues.
MP Bat Ulzii Bat-Erdene expressed a desire for Mongolia and Ethiopia to form a partnership, despite the geographical dis
tance, citing similar challenges both nations face due to climate change. In response, Minister Seyoum Mekonen promised collaborative efforts to forge a coalition aimed at making a significant impact at both national and international levels.
The head of the Mongolian delegation outlined Mongolia’s aspirations to enhance its environmental sustainability. He also extended an invitation to the Ethiopian team to visit the Mongolian pavilion at the upcoming COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan, scheduled for November 11-22, 2024, to further explore Ethiopia’s initiatives in climate response.
