Leaked Video Reveals Neo-colonialist Ambitions of U.S, Allies on Ethiopia
Some Western diplomats and members of the TPLF were caught conspiring on how to overthrow the elected government in Ethiopia and disintegrate the nation, breaching international law of diplomacy.
According to a video footage released on Wednesday, top US, UK and European Union diplomats with longstanding connections to Ethiopia during its 27 years of TPLF rule met virtually on Sunday.
During the occasion, they discussed about how to overthrow the recently elected government of Ethiopia led by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed through military means.
Among the participants of the discussion are US Ambassador to Somalia, Donald Yamamoto; Vicki J. Huddleston, former Chargé d’Affaires ad interim to Ethiopia; and Berhane Gebre-Christos, a longtime TPLF official who served as Ethiopia’s ambassador to the United States for 10 years after it came to power in 1992 until 2002.
Eleni Gabre-Madhin, Chief Innovation Officer within UNDP’s Regional Bureau for Africa, was also caught conspiring to overthrow the democratically elected Government of Ethiopia by force.
She breached article 33 of the Standards of Conduct for the International Civil Service of the United Nations (2013) which states: “It is the clear duty of all international civil servants to maintain the best possible relations with Governments and avoid any action that might impair this. They should not interfere in the policies or affairs of Governments. It is unacceptable for them, either individually or collectively, to criticize or try to discredit a Government. At the same time, it is understood that international civil servants may speak freely in support of their organizations’ policies. Any activity, direct or indirect, to undermine or overthrow a Government constitutes serious misconduct.”
Contrary to the statement made recently by the U.S. Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa, Ambassador Jeffrey Feltman, that the U.S is neutral to the conflict in Ethiopia, the U.S Ambassador to Somalia, Donald Yamamoto, openly encouraged the initiative to overthrow the legitimate and democratically elected Ethiopian government by force.
In international law, the principle of non-intervention includes, but is not limited to, the prohibition of the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any state (Article 2.4 of the Charter).
“Abiy is not listening, he’s not listening at all right now. And how are you going to reach him? A person who’s really in a corner. And (African Union envoy Olusegun) Obasanjo has not been extraordinarily helpful or very active, and so are there any other opportunities that you see?” ” Yamamoto asked Berhane.
The meeting also included a host of former ambassadors to Addis Ababa from European countries, including former UK ambassador to Ethiopia and longtime representative of British Affairs in Africa, Robert Dewar; former EU ambassador to Ethiopia, Tim Clarke; former French ambassador to Ethiopia, Stéphane Gompertz; former Spanish ambassador to Ethiopia, Carmen de la Peña; and former Finnish ambassador to Ethiopia, Kirsti Aarnio.
“I hope that you’ll have military success fairly soon, because it seems as if the situation is only becoming more drastic,” Huddleston told Berhane, adding that “Abiy should step down; there should be an all-inclusive transition government.”
Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed is leading the army at the frontline to defend the sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of the nation against the internal traitors which are supported by Western neo-colonialists.
Joining the army, PM Abiy Ahmed said “the war on Ethiopia is the war on all black nations independence. Hence, I call upon all black nations to stand with Ethiopia in the spirit of Pan-Africanism.”
