Law Enforcement Operations in Amhara Paves Way for Development Undertakings
State of Emergency Central Command Post in Amhara region conducted today performance evaluation of law enforcement operations and restructuring of administration over the last five months.
Prevalence of peace, resumption of public services and socioeconomic as well as development activities in the region are being restored fully, the command post said.
Amhara Region Peace and Security Bureau Head, Desalegn Tasew said through the joint efforts of the National Defense Force and the public, the region is returning to normalcy.
By now, the peace and security of the region has been by far improved, he said, adding that the imminent danger posed on the region has been foiled.
He added that the security arrangement of the region has been re-established to fully discharge its responsibility.
The People in the region are making demands for enforcement of law and to this effect, they are working jointly with the security forces, he said.
Prosperity Party Office Head of the Amhara Region, Yirga Sisay said on his
part that the restructuring of administration up to lower level has been carried out over the five months.
The security structure of the region has been reestablished, he said, adding that public forums were conducted and consensus reached.
Development activities are underway in the region, he said, adding urgent public demands are also being fulfilled at all levels.
Commander-in-chief of Eastern Command, Lieutenant General, Mohammed Tesemma, said that the extremist group’s intention of seizing power by force in the region has been completely reversed.
The Lt. General added that the law enforcement measures have brought about concrete results in the region.
The state of emergency command post has set direction to complete the remaining tasks before timeframe of the proclamation ends.
