Japanese Companies to Engage in Recycling Waste Products of Industrial Parks in Ethiopia to Produce Fuel, Fertilizer

Addis Ababa Two Japanese technological companies have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ethiopian Industrial Parks Development Corporation (IPDC) to engage in recycling waste products of industrial parks to produce fuel and fertilizer in Ethiopia.

Ethiopian Industrial Parks Development Corporation (IPDC) CEO, Aklilu Tadesse, Tanabe Co, LTD Executive Director Yoshiyasu Tanabe and STI sun Technol Inc Senior Executive Director Masanu kaneko signed the MOU today.

Speaking during the signing ceremony, the CEO of IPDC said that the agreement enables to convert the liquid and dray waste products of industrial parks into the fuel and fertilizers as well as to share technological experience in the field.

According to him, the MOU also important to remove the waste products timely and swiftly which is vital to protect environmental pollution.

He further said as per the agreement, the project will start as a pilot project in Hawassa Industrial Park in the next two months and expected to be expanded to other industrial parks and governmental institutions where waste products are available.

Officials of the companies on their part mentioned about their rich experience in the field noting that they have already carrying out research in Hawassa industrial park.
