HRM and APD Organizes Induction Program

Ethiopian Civil Service University (ECSU) Human Resource Management (HRM) and Academic Programs Directorate (APD) organized an induction program for faculty transferred from African Leadership Academy to the university on January 31, 2022 at Hidasse Hall.

During the program, Prof. Fikre Dessalegn, ECSU president welcomed the faculty and said this induction program is more than an acquaintance program. Your coming to this university has added a lot of potential and capacities to the university. We have great respect and honor for you as you have reached the terminal degree at the national level and served your country in different institutions and organizations, Prof. Fikre said.

He then briefed the major achievements of the university over the past twenty-seven years. The university has achieved more than 50,000 alumni and produced high profile experts, executives and officials at various levels of government including ministers. It is also a university that has made a significant impact on the country’s civil service sector through training and consultancy as well as conducting problem solving research through its Research and Community Service Division, Prof. Fikre explained. He further noted that the university is operating based on a legal framework for higher education and regulation in accordance with Higher Education Proclamation and Guidelines.

Dr. Temesgen Birega, Director of Academic Programs Directorate, on his part, briefed the university’s vision, mission and core values and explained the structural arrangementof the university’s academic wing.He also said that the university adheres to a modular teaching modality and provided in detail the duties and responsibilities of the faculty based on the Higher Education Proclamation and Guidelines.

The faculty members on their part expressed their pleasure for the warm welcome they received from the university and asked for clarification of some issues that they wanted to be clarified and Prof. Fikre gave detailed explanation for the questions and comments raised by them.
