Haramaya University Reaching in Dire Needy
Haramaya University Donated Food items which are worth of 350,000 Birr on February 1, 2022 to 175 needy people in Bate Kebele.
Among the food items donated are wheat flour, maize, rice and oil.
At the donation program Professor Jeylan Woliye, Vice president for Administration and Student Affairs said that Haramaya University community was raised fund during the COVID-19 pandemic and that fund has helped them to buy these food items. The food items that prepared and packed are includes wheat flour, maize, rice and oil, worth two thousand (2000) birr for each individual.
He also noticed that the University will continue to provide similar support to vulnerable parts of the society around Girawa, Haramaya town, Adele and Harar because Haramaya University feels and shares the problems that the surrounding community faces.
Safiya Yusuf, Bate Kebele Women’s Affairs Head, in her part, said that Haramaya University has always been standing by their side during crisis as this one.
Hamida Yuye and Zemenai Shiferaw who are among Bate Kebele residents that received the support thanked Haramaya University which reached for them while they are in dire alimentary need.
