Haramaya University is set to conduct an exhibition aimed at connecting graduating students with employers.
According to the press release from the Haramaya University and Dereja.Com the event will be organized on October 26, 2021.
The announcement came at the Annual Career Expo Launching Event, which was held on October 14, 2021 in Dire Dawa.
Carier Directorate Director of Haramaya University, Dr. Imana Beyene, said that despite the University’s tight curriculum, the graduates have been provided with skills training to produce competent and competitive students in the market.
Dr. Imana also said that the exhibition would be a place where the University’s graduates would promote themselves.
Dr. Iman added that Haramaya University benefits from hosting and participating on the job fair by bringing visibility to recruiters, future students, government, investors, policy makers, and community; promote the University as a source of good candidates for employers; create better academic and industry linkage; better reporting; and capacity building for internal staff.

Mrs. Siham Ayele, said her organization is working with the Job Creation Commission and employers with the support of the Master Card Foundation and in collaboration with Haramaya University for the 2021 Job Fair.
She indicated that the event enables graduates to connect with employers and about 50 employers would meet with graduating students at the exhibition.
Dereje.com has been working with the Ministry of Science and Higher Education for the past five years as well as collaborating with various governmental and nongovernmental partner organizations as well as graduate students who are critical to increasing employment eligibility, providing professional skills training and various consulting services to employers by producing qualified staff.
On the occasion, participants addressed the problems that hinder the quality of education and the lack of performance of fresh graduates as well as the needs and interests of potential employers in the country at all levels.
