Ghana Football Association Mourns the Loss of Raphael Dwamena
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has expressed its deep sorrow over the passing of former Ghana international striker Raphael Dwamena. Dwamena, aged 28, tragically died following a cardiac arrest during a football match in Albania.
According to Ghana News Agency, Dwamena, who was playing for Albanian team KF Egnatia, collapsed during a game against Partizani. Despite efforts by medics to resuscitate him, he was third-time unlucky after suffering cardiac arrest twice before. The association, in a social media post, extended its condolences to Dwamena’s family, remembering him for his wholehearted representation of Ghana and his dedication to the national cause. Raphael Dwamena made nine appearances for the Ghana Black Stars, scoring two goals, and had played for clubs like Zurich, Levante, and Zaragoza, among others.
