Foreign Ministers of South Sudan, Tunisia Arrive in Addis Ababa

Addis Ababa: African Ministers of Foreign Affairs are arriving in Ethiopia’s capital Addis Ababa to partake in the 44th Ordinary Session of the African Union Executive Council that will be opened tomorrow.

South Sudanese International cooperation and Foreign Affairs Minister, James Morgan and Foreign Affairs Minister of Tunisia Nabil Ammar have arrived in Addis Ababa this afternoon.

Earlier today, the Comorian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohamed El-Amine Souef, the Cabo Verdean Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, and Regional Integration, Rui Alberto de Figueiredo Soares, and Minister of External Relations of Cameroon, Lejeune Mbella Mbella arrived at Bole International Airport.

The Acting and State Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Somalia, Ali Mohamed Omar, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Burundi, Amb. Albert Shingiro, have also arrived today.

The 44th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council will be held from February 14-15, 2024 in Addis Ababa.

The 37th Ordi
nary Session of the Assembly of the Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU) will follow from February 17 to 18, 2024.

In 2024, the African Union is set to pay special attention to education and training with the theme of the year focusing on educating an Africa fit for the 21st century: building resilient education systems for increased access to inclusive, qualitative, lifelong and relevant learning for Africa.

Peace, integration and development among top agenda items at the African Union summit, it was indicated.
