EU Reiterates Commitment to Strengthen Cooperation with Ethiopia
The European Union (EU) has reaffirmed its commitment to continue strengthening the cooperation with Ethiopia.
Discussing with the EU Commissioner for International Partnerships Jutta Urpilainen, Minister of Planning and Development Fitsum Assefa noted that EU is key strategic partner of Ethiopia.
Praising the EU for its continuous support for Ethiopia, she said the launch of European Union’s (EU) 650 million Euros multisector support program for Ethiopia is part of such cooperation.
Explaining the mid-term three-year investment plan as well as the homegrown economic reform, Fitsum said these will enable the EU to understand the priority of the government and the people and cooperate with Ethiopia.
EU Commissioner for International Partnerships Jutta Urpilainen affirmed that the EU will cooperate with the government of Ethiopia in the areas of climate change, agricultural activities, biodiversity protection, green development, environmental protection and renewable energy development, human resource development, health, good governance, peace building and democratic development activities.
The European Union (EU) Commissioner for International Partnership, Jutta Urpilainen paid a two day working visit to Ethiopia to discuss on strengthening cooperation with Ethiopia.
As part of the visit the commissioner launched 650 million euros multisector support program for Ethiopia on Tuesday.
The program will be implemented from 2024 to 2027 focusing on three priority areas: Green Deal, Human Development, and Governance and Peace-building.
