Ethiopians Should Rally Around Common Vision to Realize Reforms: House of Federation Speaker
Ethiopians should rally around a common vision in order to realize the current reforms, House of Federation Speaker Agegnehu Teshager said.
Speaking at the celebration of the 128th Adwa anniversary today, the speaker noted that the Victory of Adwa is a result of Ethiopian solidarity irrespective of ethnic and religious differences.
Ethiopians should therefore take a lesson from the victory that shunned exclusionary attitudes and placed shared truth on a firm foundation, he said.
Adwa was where the leadership and the follower combined their power and resources to register unprecedented victory.
As unity and solidarity create energy that will invigorate the journey to the desired goal, the success registered at the Victory of Adwa made it possible for Ethiopia to rise in the global arena, the speaker elaborated.
Most importantly, Agegnehu stated that the victory had resulted in inspiring the black people of the world to fight for their freedom against colonial powers.
Moreover, Adwa’s victory is a signifi
cant world historical event that changed the false narrative of supremacy with the true narrative of equality.
Therefore, we have to learn from Adwa, the speaker underscored, adding that Ethiopians must have a vision of solidarity and shared vision in order to reach the goal of the ongoing far-reaching reforms.
The speaker finally stated that the 128th anniversary of the Victory of Adwa was celebrated uniquely at the newly built Adwa Victory Memorial Museum in the Ethiopian capital city .
