Ethiopian Delegation Participates in BRICS Sherpas Meeting in Russia
KAZAN: A high-profile Ethiopian delegation, led by Foreign Affairs State Minister Ambassador Misganu Arga, is participating in the 4th BRICS Sherpas/Sous-Sherpas Meeting held in Kazan, Russia. The meeting, scheduled from October 17 to 24, 2024, aims to enhance collaboration among the BRICS nations and partner countries.
According to Ethiopian News Agency, the gathering is being hosted under the chairship of the Russian Federation and includes representatives from Brazil, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Iran, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and South Africa. The discussions are focused on finalizing the draft Kazan Declaration and the draft Modalities of the BRICS Partner Country Category.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia has highlighted the significance of these discussions, which are a precursor to the 16th BRICS Leaders’ Summit. The summit is set to take place from October 22 to 24, 2024, in Kazan, and will operate under the theme “Strengthening Multilateralism for Just Global Development and Security.”
The BRICS forum, which encompasses Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, continues to expand its reach by engaging with partner countries like Ethiopia. This meeting serves as a platform for these nations to align on strategies that promote multilateralism and foster global development and security.
