Ethiopian Airlines Launches Women-Only International and Local Flights for International Women’s Day
Addis Ababa: Ethiopian Airlines is conducting an all women-only flight to Athens, Delhi, Dubai, Windhoek, and Sao Paulo in connection with International Women’s Day. An additional all women-only flight is expected to take place simultaneously to Bahir Dar, the Amhara regional capital, it was learned.
According to Ethiopian News Agency, the ceremony of the 10th annual women-only flight is being held at the Bole International Airport. Planning and Development Minister Fitsum Assefa, Women and Social Affairs Minister Ergoge Tesfaye, and Ethiopian Airlines Group Commercial Sector General Manager Lemma Yadecha, members of the airline management, ambassadors of various countries, and guests are present at the ceremony.
Ethiopian Airlines Group Commercial Sector General Manager Lemma Yadecha said on the occasion that the airline organized the flight to encourage women’s participation in the airline. Noting that Ethiopian Airlines has been expanding its horizon, he added that the participation of women has grown in the company.
The last all-women-only flight was made to Bangkok, Kigali, Lagos, Washington DC, Norway, Buenos Aires, Zanzibar, and Gatwick, England.
