Ethiopia, Canada MPs Agree to Enhance Relations
Addis Ababa: Ethiopia and Canada members of parliament have held discussion to enhance parliamentary relations and work together in various areas of common interest.
Parliament members of Canada and House of People’s Representatives (HPR) Foreign Relations and Peace Affairs Standing Committee members held discussion in Addis Ababa today.
On the occasion, HPR Foreign Relations and Peace Affairs Standing Committee Deputy Chairperson Fathe Mahdi said Ethiopia and Canada share common goals in promoting peace and security in East Africa.
They work together in peace keeping and building in Somalia and South Sudan as well as fight terrorism to ensure peace and security.
The bilateral relationship between the countries has been growing from time to time, he said, adding that the friendship over half a century is based on a firm foundation and mutual interest and respect.

ews to work together in the future.
‘We had very interesting discussion on our relation with Ethiopia. We have 50 years of relationship and partnership and we want to keep it, and strengthen parliamentary association’ she said.
Members of the Canadian parliament have expressed their commitment to continuing support for Ethiopia in various development program.
