Ethiopia and South Sudan Strengthen Ties to Boost Police Cooperation.
JUBA: Ethiopia and South Sudan agreed to enhance cooperation in the sphere of police institutions through capacity building programs, according to Ethiopian Embassy in Juba. Ethiopian Ambassador to South Sudan, Nebil Mahdi, met with South Sudan’s Inspector General of Police (IGP), General Atem Marol Biar Kuek, today to discuss enhancing bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries’ police institutions.
According to Ethiopian News Agency, during the meeting, the Ambassador and the IGP exchanged views on various areas of collaboration, including recent training programs provided by Ethiopia to South Sudanese police officers. The two sides highlighted the success of these initiatives and explored opportunities for future cooperation to further strengthen the capacity of both nations’ police forces. The discussions emphasized the shared commitment of Ethiopia and South Sudan to deepen bilateral ties, improve security, and promote stability within their countries and the wider region.
