Ethiopia and Algeria set up a joint business council

The Business Council, which is believed to boost all-round economic relations between Ethiopia and Algeria, was established by an online signing ceremony between the two countries’ Chambers of Commerce and Industry.

In his opening remarks, Algerian Minister of Commerce, Kemal Razig, said that the two countries have strong diplomatic ties and that their government is working hard to achieve economic exchanges.

Speaking on the occasion, FDRE Special Envoy and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Algeria, Nebiat Getachew, said there is a strong desire to conduct various trade and investment exchanges between the two countries’ business community.

He thanked the two countries’ chambers of commerce and industry for their initiative in signing the business council memorandum of understanding.

Algerian Foreign Ministry Director for African Affairs Lina, for her part, said the government is keen to strengthen trade ties with Ethiopia. He said they have reached an agreement on issues.

The memorandum of understanding was signed by the Secretary General of the Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Youssef Adamnur.
