Danish Diplomat Commends Ethiopia’s Economic Reforms.

Addis Ababa: Sebastian Lukas Bych, Deputy Head of Mission at the Royal Danish Embassy in Ethiopia, commended the considerable progress achieved by Ethiopia subsequent to the recent implementation of comprehensive economic reforms. He asserted that the progress made by Ethiopia subsequent to its comprehensive economic reform is commendable and exemplary for other nations. “I believe that Ethiopia has achieved remarkable progress in just the last few months with its economic reforms, serving as a model for efficient economic reform implementation.”

According to Ethiopian News Agency, Bych recalled Denmark’s longstanding partnership with Ethiopia, focusing on various collaborative agendas, including climate change. He emphasized the shared commitment of both countries to promoting climate action and ensuring the development of an economy that is resilient to climate change and adaptable to future climate systems.

The two nations are actively collaborating on several initiatives, particularly in agriculture and
energy, he said. “These initiatives focus on the implementation of smart agricultural practices and the development of new energy solutions to enhance electricity access for all Ethiopians.”

He expressed his country’s commitment to continuing its collaboration with Ethiopia in all aforementioned aspects of cooperation. “Denmark and Ethiopia are very close partners, and we have numerous ongoing projects in various areas, including agriculture, climate change, and energy. Consequently, Denmark is committed to continuing its work with Ethiopia in all these areas of cooperation.”

He highlighted Denmark’s support for Ethiopia’s Productive Safety Net Program as a crucial component of the country’s economic reform efforts, emphasizing its role in including vulnerable populations in the economic transition. “Denmark’s support for Ethiopia’s Productive Safety Net Program underscores its commitment to inclusive economic growth, ensuring that vulnerable populations benefit from economic reforms,” he emphasized.
