Czech Prime Minister Seeks to Bolster Ties with Ethiopia During Official Visit
ADDIS ABABA — Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala has commenced a three-day official engagement in Ethiopia’s capital, an envoy disclosed on Friday.
According to the Ethiopian News Agency (ENA), Fiala, arriving at Bole International Airport, was received by Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed amidst official ceremonies.
The visit of Prime Minister Fiala aims to enhance the strategic partnership between the Czech Republic and Ethiopia, focusing on development, investment, and other key sectors.
Prime Minister Fiala, alongside his accompanying delegation, is scheduled to deliberate with Ethiopian officials on subjects including the expansion of the mining sector and cultural exchange programs.
The Czech Prime Minister’s agenda also includes high-level discussions with Ethiopian counterparts to explore new avenues for bilateral cooperation and address shared concerns.
This working trip to Ethiopia forms a segment of Fiala’s broader week-long tour across sub-Saharan Africa, which will include stops in Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, and Côte d’Ivoire.
Following his diplomatic endeavors in Ethiopia, Fiala is set to proceed with his delegation to these additional sub-Saharan nations.
Fiala is joined by a cohort of executives from leading Czech businesses and members of the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic.
