African researchers are more affected by these predatory journals Dr. Solomon added.

According to him,  Hijacked  journals,  duplicate or fake webs created by malicious parties and criminals and unethical publishing which is related to excessive publishing by the editorial boards in own journey, excessive co-citation, gift authorship for non-concerned body, etc. are major issues that the researchers need to pay  due attentions.

Finally, Dr. Solomon recommended using only the legal and authentic publication platforms like SCOPUS and web of science journal. He also recommended institution leaders work on awareness creation for researchers in their institutions about the predatory publications and warning them against illegitimate publications and developing cohesive recommendations on publication integrity.

Dr. Solomon has more than twenty five years of research related experiences and is currently working as Director General for Science and Research Affairs at Ministry of Education. He is currently in charge of overseeing the science and research related activities of higher education institutions in Ethiopia, participating in setting policies and strategies that enhance science, science culture, research, and research ethics in Ethiopia.
