City Mayor Shares Essential Food Items to Over 424,000 Residents

Mayor of Addis Ababa City, Adanech Abiebie has shared essential food items to over 424,000 less fortunate residents of the city in connection with the ‘Day of Goodness’ observed today.

Elders, the sick, and heroes who have sacrificed for Ethiopia will be lavished with food and care, it was indicated during the occasion.

The support is intended to help the residents spend the upcoming New Year with joy with their families.

Edible oil, flour and chicken are some of the items delivered to the residents today.

Low income civil servants have also been invited to take part in the feast.

The meals will be served in all Sub-cities and Woredas across the sprawling capital, including in the administration offices.

The event aims to convey gratitude to those who have given so much to the country.

The six days of Pagumen, the 13th “month” of Ethiopian calendar are being marked at national level with various activities.

Today, Pagumen 3, is designated as Volunteer (Goodness) Day in Ethiopia.
