CAF President Patrice Motsepe Arrives in Addis Ababa for 46th Ordinary Assembly
ADDIS ABABA: The President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Patrice Tlhopane Motsepe, has arrived in Addis Ababa ahead of the 46th Ordinary Assembly of CAF. The assembly is set to take place on October 22, 2024, and will gather football representatives from across the continent and beyond to discuss key issues surrounding African football.
According to Ethiopian News Agency, Motsepe was greeted upon his arrival at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport by Ethiopia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gedion Timothewos, and Minister of Culture and Sports, Shewit Shanka, alongside other senior government officials. This assembly marks Ethiopia’s second time hosting the prestigious CAF Congress, with the first instance occurring in 2017.
The event is anticipated to draw officials from CAF Member Associations, zonal unions, and prominent figures from the international football community. Ethiopia’s preparations underscore its readiness to serve as a central hub for critical discussions on the future of
African football.
