ANKARA: Ethiopia and Somalia have signed the Ankara Declaration, a diplomatic agreement mediated by Turkey, aimed at enhancing regional cooperation and resolving longstanding misunderstandings between the two nations. President Taye Atske Selassie of Ethiopia emphasized the significance of this accord in strengthening ties not only between the two countries but also across the greater Horn of Africa.
According to Ethiopian News Agency, the agreement was reached after Turkish-mediated negotiations in Ankara, marking a breakthrough in diplomatic relations. President Taye highlighted in a social media post that the Ankara Declaration is a critical step toward forging stronger regional cooperation, extending its impact beyond Ethiopia and Somalia to encompass the broader Horn of Africa region.
