Accuracy has been verified for 1,620,180 measuring instruments to ensure the benefit of the consumer and business community.

(MOTI) – A total of 1,620,180 measuring instruments have been certified in the 2013 Ethiopian budget year to ensure the accuracy of legal measuring instruments and to benefit the consumer and business community.

During the fiscal year, it was planned to verify the accuracy of 1,517,424 measuring instruments, of which 1,620,180, including 358,270 different scales and weights, 204 earth scales, 1,162,804 length measurements and 98,902 fluid measurements.

Similarly, 2,680 liquid tankers are planned to be certified and 2,781 are certified.

Compulsory Ethiopian standards have been monitored for fuel meters, scales, weights and fluids, and studies have been carried out to verify the accuracy of the health and safety measurement equipment and to update the Automotive Veterans Center, said Yared Befekadu, director of legal metrology.
