AAU signs Cooperative Agreement with Ethiopian Shipping Enterprise
Addis Ababa University (AAU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ethiopian Shipping and Logistics Services Enterprise (ESLSE) in the Office of the President of the University today, October 12, 2021.
The main purpose of the agreement is to train a number of maritime transport and logistics service professionals to create a wide range of international employment and market opportunities for Ethiopia and beyond.
According to the agreement, AAU will use its highly experienced scholars and institutions to formulate curricula, expand research and development projects to address the challenges of the Enterprise and the industry as a whole.
Prof. Tassew Woldehana, President of AAU, said that the university will work hard to use its business and technology institutions to contribute to the benefit of Ethiopia by training internationally competitive professionals.
According to Prof. Tassew, AAU will focus on expanding market and job opportunities by training professionals from neighboring Africa and other Arab countries, in addition to Ethiopians.
Roba Megersa, CEO of the ESLSE, said, the institute will cooperate with AAU with an aim of opening opportunity to teach first and second degrees in the field of manpower, which was previously limited to short trainings only.
The agreement was signed by Prof. Tassew Woldehanna, President of Addis Ababa University and Roba Megersa, CEO of the Ethiopian Shipping and Logistics Service Enterprise.
