AAU buys latest model motor vehicles
Addis Ababa University buys twenty latest Hyundai motor vehicles from Marathon Motors Engineering Private Limited Company with a price of 37.3 million birr. All the newly bought automobiles have arrived at AAU. Addis Ababa University Management received the cars on Saturday July, 31 2021.
Ato Walelign Dessie, Procurement Administration Director at Addis Ababa University, said the purchase of locally assembled Hyundai vehicles for Addis Ababa University was obtained with the approval of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development.
Walelign said that the motor vehicles are modern and new models as well as fuel efficient and provide efficient and comprehensive service.
The Procurement Administration Director noted that the vehicles will be used for facilitation of teaching, learning and research, as well as for procurement services and transporting university officials to various meetings and for various administrative services.
“In addition, the purchased vehicles take students to the field, transport university staff to workshops, symposiums and training activities, and transport researchers to deserts for research.”
“In order to alleviate the university’s vehicle problem to some extent, the purchase of the vehicles has been planned and studied and it is a procurement that has undergone a number of legal procedures in compliance with government procurement laws and regulations.”
Ato Walelign Dessie lastly expressed his sincere gratitude to the senior management of the university as well as the administration for the success of the purchase of the motor vehicles.
