Former Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Hailemariam Desalegn said in a press briefing last week that Tana High-Level Forum will create opportunities to deal with security issues in Africa.
The aim of the Forum includes proposing solutions to the overarching security challenges of the continent to harness enduring peace and build resilience by placing citizens at the center and the state playing a role only when that’s necessary.
According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the main agenda of the forum will cover the themes of creating peace and security, the role of citizens beyond the government’s role, increasing the economic and social benefits of the community, and creating resilience to conflict.
